ABOUT THE FOUNDER
A mother to two wild, loving boys, a devoted wife; Exceptional Steps founder and educator Katrina welcomes students with her friendly and nurturing personality. Always holding a deep interest and passion for individualized learning, she obtained both a Bachelor of Arts in Inclusive Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
Throughout her career, both inside and outside a public school setting, Katrina learned quickly that with the proper support and directions - any student could learn.
After leaving over eight years of working in public education, she set out to create Exceptional Steps with the desire to apply this nurtured learning to as many students as possible.
Outside of the classroom, she loves nothing more than playing outside with her boys, exploring her decorating skills, and a little bit of quiet time with her husband.

Our team delivers a unique approach to learning that facilitates a vast range of education and other needs. We’re always on-hand to listen, answer and support any questions that come our way—allowing us to provide a tailored approach to education.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH
Unlike traditional educational programs, we look at you as an individual. We seek out our student’s individual needs and tailor our services to meet theirs. We strongly believe that if a student isn’t learning, there has to be an underlying reason, making appropriate adjustments to match the environment that allows them to reach their full potential.
Learning should be about feeling safe enough to take the next step, take risks, and most importantly, learn from these experiences to develop yourself as a better human being.
